Noah Combes Muay Thai Interview | Phat Chats Round 6
Noah Combes fights out of Monsters Inc. Muay Thai in Perth and was one of the four in the Empire Legacy 64 kg tournament in March. We filmed this before his semi against Trent Hodgkinson of Kao Sok Muay Thai. Here are his 3 extra minutes.
Noah Combes vs Trent Hodgkinson at Empire Fight Series Legacy
Empire Fight Series Legacy was Saturday 28 March 2026 at Motormall Prestige & Performance in Wangara, Perth. The card carried a four-man 64 kg tournament, semis and final on the same night (Aus Muay Thai results).
Noah, out of Monsters Inc. Muay Thai, drew Trent Hodgkinson of Kao Sok Muay Thai, the WBC WA State Lightweight Champion, in his semi, a 3-rounder; the other semi was Connor O'Reilly against Facundo Bodach. The WA Combat Sports Commission sheet has the full card.
Noah came in with wins over Jack Stagg and Jackson Miller on WA cards (Aus Muay Thai's card preview). He says he's a southpaw, and Tawanchai is his favourite: "the way he fights is beautiful to watch and that's how I want to fight." In the quickfire he picked "fight at home".
Phat Chats is our quickfire interview series. A pro fight runs 5 rounds of 3 minutes. Round 6 is the 3 extra minutes after the bell. 17 questions, one clock, and the fighter picks who sits in the chair next. Robbie Mars filmed Noah's at the show on 28 March 2026, before the semi.
The 3 extra minutes
Hardest you've ever been hit?
Noah: I was in training, in sparring. I got hit by one of the big boys by a body shot and I don't think I've been hit that hard before. Just dropped me and I was, yeah, cooked.
Scariest opponent you've ever faced?
Noah: Honestly, none of them have been scary, in my opinion. Every fight is different and I wouldn't say I'm scared of my opponent. I wouldn't say any of them have been scared.
Best knockout of your career?
Noah: Probably the one knockout I've got, which was a head kick in the third round. So yeah, probably that one.
Favourite fighter of all time?
Noah: Favourite fight of all time would probably have to be Tawanchai. Just because, one, he's a southpaw like me, and just the way he fights is beautiful to watch and that's how I want to fight.
Best fight you've ever seen?
Noah: I'll go Tawanchai versus Superbon number one, which was pretty recent. That was a pretty good fight, I have to say.
Muay Thai to you in one sentence?
Noah: It means everything to me and it means legacy, really.
Most up & coming Muay Thai fighter right now?
Noah: There's a lot of good, pretty young up-and-comers, to be fair. I'd have to say, if we're not talking young but up-and-coming, I'd say Reece Corrigan is definitely one, because he's still not new, but he hasn't had over 30 fights, 20 fights, and he's already got Aussie titles and state titles and fought ties, just fought tucks on that. I'd say Reece Corrigan, probably one of the best up-and-comers.
Quickfire: punch, kick, elbow or knee?
Noah: Kick.
Quickfire: clinch or range?
Noah: Range.
Quickfire: body kick or head kick?
Noah: Body kick.
Quickfire: teep or low kick?
Noah: Low kick.
Quickfire: pads or sparring?
Noah: Sparring.
Quickfire: fight in Thailand or at home?
Noah: Fight at home.
Quickfire: power or speed?
Noah: Speed.
Quickfire: aggressive or counter fighter?
Noah: Counter fighter.
Biggest Muay Thai advice to your younger self?
Noah: Be dedicated. Stick to it. There's going to be ups and downs, but as long as you stick to it, things will work out.
Who should do Round 6 next?
Noah: We'll go Trent.
What Noah fought in
Every fighter on the Legacy card was in Supa Phat: Ghost Series Muay Thai Shorts in Mint Green and Electric Blue, and Sentinel Boxing Gloves. Noah picks the kick, and the shorts are built for it: microfibre with more flex than satin, so the kick gets its full arc. The gloves are cowhide with a wrist strap that locks the hand in.

Who's next in the chair? "We'll go Trent." That's Trent Hodgkinson of Kao Sok Muay Thai, the bloke Noah was about to fight in the semi. Trent has already had his 3 minutes.
The rest of Series 1 was filmed at the same show. Connor O'Reilly won the other 64 kg semi and met Trent in the final. Matt Deisel, Shawah Jin and Jayden Panucci fought on the card too. Watch every Phat Chats episode, and follow @noah_combes.
