Shawah Jin vs Asanee Suwan at Empire Fight Series Legacy
Empire Fight Series Legacy ran on Saturday 28 March 2026 at Motormall Prestige & Performance in Wangara, Perth. Trent Hodgkinson won the 64 kg tournament and Jayden Panucci stopped Corey Bartlett in the main event (full results on the WA Combat Sports Commission sheet). All six Series 1 Phat Chats fighters fought on it.
Shawah, out of Lovett Muay Thai in Albany, fought Asanee Suwan of Pursuit Muay Thai in an international bout billed at featherweight, 58.9 to 61.2 kg, over 3 rounds of 3 minutes. He won it on a split decision (here's how Muay Thai fights are scored). The commission sheet has the same result and lists Asanee as Ataporn Suwan; Aus Muay Thai has him as Asanee Sitmonchai. Asanee coaches at Pursuit, and he's the fighter Matt Deisel nominates in his own episode.
Shawah puts this at his 19th fight. His bio lists him as a former ISKA State Champion and Rio Tinto Cup winner. He won the state title against Trent Hodgkinson on a split decision at Nemesis Rising 2 in Albany on 1 June 2024, with Robert Lovett in his corner.

Robbie Mars filmed Shawah's at the show in Wangara on 28 March 2026, before he walked out to face Asanee.
The 3 extra minutes
Hardest you've ever been hit?
Shawah: The first time I was in my third fight, I got hit to the liver and I nearly had to stop. I just dig deep and I was like, no, I can't give up now. So I decided to circle around and managed to clinch it on, just hanging on so I don't get hit more.
Scariest opponent you've ever faced?
Shawah: Probably this one, actually. He's had a hundred something fights and I'm only up to my 19th fight. So it's a big difference between the records. He's a bit older, so bit of nerve.
Best knockout of your career?
Shawah: I haven't had any knockout yet, but I do have a couple of knockdowns against Trevor Tran. I just exchanging and then managed to cut his leg and throw a big cross and dump him on the floor.
Favourite fighter of all time?
Shawah: Has to be Mike Zambidis from KWA days. Him and us are very short and we're always fighting tall people. He's got a crazy Greek style, just throwing hands. I just love Mike Zambidis.
Best fight you've ever seen?
Shawah: I'd have to say Nico Carrillo versus Nong-O. It's just so unexpected for him to do that to Nong-O.
Most up & coming Muay Thai fighter right now?
Shawah: I think Nico Carrillo is a really good up and comer in the Muay Thai here.
Muay Thai to you in one sentence?
Shawah: Life.
Quickfire: punch, kick, elbow or knee?
Shawah: Punch all day.
Quickfire: clinch or range?
Shawah: Range all day.
Quickfire: body kick or head kick?
Shawah: Head kick.
Quickfire: teep or low kick?
Shawah: Teep.
Quickfire: pads or sparring?
Shawah: Pads.
Quickfire: fight in Thailand or at home?
Shawah: Fine Thailand.
Quickfire: power or speed?
Shawah: Speed.
Quickfire: aggressive or counter fighter?
Shawah: Aggressive.
Biggest Muay Thai advice to your younger self?
Shawah: The advice I would give to my younger self is just keep training hard and always keep setting the standard, raising the bar. Just do more. Keep doing more.
Who should do Round 6 next?
Shawah: Matt Deisel. He's a great ****. He's a legend.
What Shawah fought in
Every fighter on the Legacy card was in Supa Phat: Ghost Series Muay Thai Shorts in Mint Green and Electric Blue, and Sentinel Boxing Gloves. Shawah's quickfire answer was "punch all day". Sentinel Boxing Gloves are cowhide with a wrist strap that keeps the hand locked for the full three rounds. The shorts are microfibre and don't hold sweat.
